We are delighted to announce Theale Green’s continued success on the examination front and to congratulate our Year 11 students on their fantastic achievements.
We are particularly delighted to report that 70% of our students achieved an A*-C grade for English and 68% of our students achieved an A*-C grade for Mathematics, both considerably higher than the national average. In addition to these headlines we have maintained our outstanding results in a wide range of subjects including French, Dance, Photography, Art and Physical Education.
Especially notable is the success of our students across the ability range and micro-populations. Outcomes for both our Disadvantaged (PP) and Special Education Needs(SEN) students have improved dramatically; the PP gap has shrunk from 28% to just 8% and the SEN gap for English and Maths by ani mpressive 10%.
The students’ sustained commitment, combined with the on-going improvement to teaching and learning and support from parents, has enabled many of them to exceed their target grades. It is never possible to recognise every individual achievement, however, we would like to make particular mention of Andrew Challenger, who achieved 7A*and 4 As, Max Stradling, who achieved 6 A*s, 4 As and 1 B, Paul Davis, who achieved 6 A*s, 3 As and 1 B, Aleksandra Panek, who achieved 5 A*s, 4As and 1 Band said “I am extremely happy with my results and so proud that my hard work has paid off. However, I do believe that there is always room for improvement and I will keep this in mind for my A-Levels.”
Charlotte Blewitt, achieved 3A*s and 8 As and said “It’s an amazing feeling to know that hard work does payoff and does not go unrecognised!” Congratulations also to Lara Cross, who achieved 1 A*, 7As and 2 Bs, Gabriella Vitaliano, who achieved 1 A*, 7 As and 2Bs and Isabel Aspey, who achieved 9 As and 1 B. We are delighted that the majority of these students, along with many of their peers are continuing their education at Theale Green Sixth Form and have no doubt that they will go on to secure even better results that the excellent ones secured by our outgoing Year 13 students.
We have worked hard to sustain the rapid improvement identified by Ofsted in 2015 and believe that these results are evidence of our success. We will continue to strive for yet further improvement in the coming academic year to ensure that our students have the very best education, and can secure the best possible results.
We are proud of all our students' achievements. Their hard work and commitment has been rewarded and these results will ensure that they are able to follow their chosen paths and continue on the road to success.
